I ordered some of their chili seasoning and just made a big pot the other day.

Each packet is supposed to be good for 2# of meat. I intended to use 4# of meat so I used one packet each of their Texas Chili and Ghost Pepper Chili.

I ended up with 2# of smoke brisket flat cut into 1/2 “ cubes and 3# of ground venison breakfast sausage (made with Leggs seasoning) so a total of 5# of meat went into the mix. I figured the extra pound of meat would help tame the ghost pepper burn a bit.

I followed the recommended ingredients for 2 batches of chili with some exceptions.

Instead of tomato soup I used diced tomatoes. I also added 1# of diced mushrooms and 3 slice jalapeño peppers for the flavor not necessarily for the heat.

After simmering for a couple of hours in went two cans of dark red kidney beans (I was born in Texas but still like the beans! So sue me

This batch of chili had some of the best flavor I’ve ever made but it’s way past my comfort level for heat!!!!

I thought that a mix of the two spice packets would land somewhere in the middle but it was way over to the ghost pepper side.

I can’t eat it alone but over some cooked rice it’s great. You definitely need a beach towel to wipe the sweat as your pores open up!

I'll definitely use the Sucklebusters again.

Oddly enough, I tried out the Sucklebuster's Texas Chili mix last week. Two pounds of ground round, tomato sauce, sauteed onions and the 2 packages of seasoning. Some of the best chili ever.

I also had ordered some of their salsa mix which is very good. I added cilantro to the mix to brighten it up.

I later ordered more chili mix, some of their bbq sauce and the pepper jelly which goes great with a home made biscuit

Highly recommend Sucklebusters

You betcha!

Buttermilk cornbread is my plan tonight. And I only use real butter, not margarine on the cornbread.

Top the chili with some course shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Maybe some celery sticks and blue cheese dressing on the side.

Come on ice cream in the morning!!
