New to Smoking

Thread Starter

New member, have been forum lurking for a couple of weeks getting info.  I don't own a smoker yet but have/am doing some research and I think I have decided on the MES40 with the window from Sam's Club.  Live in Dayton, Oh.  I've been watching all the TV show's out there and think I am ready to try it for myself.

Welcome to your new addiction

Hello Sodak and welcome to the fun.  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  The trial and error method works well.  We will try to help you keep the errors to a minimum since we already made them for you.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

What about charcoal?  What about propane? What about a build? icon_biggrin.gif  Just messin with ya.  You need to do as much research as you can and do the best to get the smoker you think will fit your requirements and within your budget.  If you give us requirements and budget we can offer advice but it will probably make things harder as you will get so many different options.  The only thing I will offer is : Do you have acess to electrical outlet without the use of an extension cord?  Extension cords and heating elements are not a good thing.  Whatever you get we will get you up and smokin like a pro.  Keep Smokin!

If you didn't read the Terms of Service notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums. Rule #11......"Off Site Links are not allowed here at SMF" is something new. There are other simple guidelines for all of us to remember as we interact here.

If you need any help roaming around here in SMF....just give me a shout.  Happy to help any time!
