So, I'd like to preface this by saying that I was always shocked by how many cheerleaders Todd (Amazenprdoducts.com) has on here... until I got one of his devices. I got an AMNPS and cold-smoked some cheese with dust... it worked flawlessly! I then tried some other things and emailed him because I was not getting a consistent burn with pellets at anything above about 140 degrees. He asked my altitude, I told him that I was about 5500-6000 here in Albuquerque, and he responded that he had sent me a tube smoker because they perform better at altitude. Well Rah-Rah-Rah... I'm now one of those cheerleaders. I didn't ask, he just sent it... and in a couple of days, it arrived. So this Sunday, I felt the need to test it out. I tried some bratwursts... gotta have something for breakfast/lunch at work, after all... :)
I didn't take a before picture of the brats, but I think we all know what a bratwurst looks like... :)
I got the little tube burning and kept a flame for about 10 minutes, according to instructions. It was producing pretty nice TBS when I blew out the flame.
And after about 3 hours at 225 degrees, here are the finished brats. These will make a great breakfast tomorrow at work!
So... even after these buggers were finished, I was still getting good smoke... So I wanted to find something else to smoke. I hate wasting good smoke, after all. I looked around my pantry and found some peanuts. To be continued.... :)
Ok, if you want to see the peanut story, here it is! :)
