Hey everyone.
In honor of the Daytona 500 I decided to smoke a 6.4# butt. I put the butt on at 11:30 last night after rubbing it down and injecting with Cheerwine. My MES has been running fine, but I fought with my AMNPS for hours before I finally gave up. I think that using all Cherry was a bad idea so after a couple of hours I took them all out and Used a mix of hickory on bottom and cherry on top and it still wouldnt work. I probably ready every thread on this site about AMNPS and MES but just couldnt make it happen. So I got up this morning and the butt is still smoking. I decided To give the AMNPS one more shot and it seems to be working fine. Who knows. Im sure it's me as everyone here seems to hae good results. I'll guess it's just a learning curve.

I just smoked three racks of baby backs using 1/3 hickory and 2/3 cherry pellets.  I talked to Todd and he told me he was unsure why the cherry pellets require help smoking.  He recommended mixing with another pellet.  I had no problems keeping the pellets smoking in my Bradley.  Smoking a brisket today using oak pellets and so far no problems.
 
Yum Cheerwine! I bring home four cases from my vacation to the Outer Banks every year! LMK how much the cherry taste comes through. I may have to try that.

Wow! I can't believe how slow this is going. It's been on the smoker for almost 13 hours and it's still at only 187. I am supposed to be going to a party here shortly and wanted to take some with me. Is it possible to have to wait this long? I've moved it up to 250* to see if I can get it moving. Is this a bad idea?

So the verdict is in and it's good. I pulled it off the smoker at 196 and wrapped it in foil. We were then off to the party. It's been a big hit. I pulled it apart and it was good to go. I like it much better than When I foiled it last time.
