After trying several attempts at my own rub, I have decided to give Jeff's recipe a try. We are going to smoke a ham for Christmas, so I thought the rub would be a good try. Then, I decided it would be better to try the rub first, so I have some baby backs smoking now! I also threw some frozen hamburger patties in there too to give those a try for the first time.

I have never smoked burgers before, so this will be new for me, as well as they were frozen when thrown in. Wish me luck!

With all the great free rub recipes out there I don't understand why anybody would pay for one. Just my opinion.

Bought them as a gesture of support to Jeff and his website. God knows I have spent a lot more money on worse stuff.

I liked the fact that he ecouraged users to modify it to suit their own tastes. For those of us that were new to smoking it gave us a foundation to begin our smoking and BBQ lifestyle. Now I can confidently use all the other recipes without fear of ruining a good hunk of meat. $.02

Dennis....... Right on...... I agree.....  considering the valuable information passed on to members, this forum has made many folks very good at smoking foods and making sausage.... Not even covering the other valuable info passed on....

That being said, Premier Membership is a very good investment to insure the forum continues.....  Premier Member   ..click on the link

I bought Jeffs recipes also more to support the site and I like the rub but  i loved the sauce.  I have made three batches the last two with little tweaks just trying to get the heat right. I also get the newsletter and have learned so much.

Thanks Jeff

There are millions of free rubs out there.  Hundreds posted on this site.  But I bought Jeff's rub about a year ago and love it.  I use it for everything.  Probably my only complaint is, it's pretty heave on paprika and sugar so it carmilizes hard.  But seriously, it's a perfect rub.  No sense exploring if you've already found perfection.
