I have been hearing a new noise behind my house. It looks like we have new neighbors.

We have a few Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers around the yard.
And last 2 years had a Northern Flicker poke a big hole in the tree out back and make it home

Yes, this!! It can wake one up out of a deep sleep, right off. We're up to seven Flickers now, my guess is the odd man out is trying his best to sway one of the females his direction.

Haha! Over here the ravens like to dance on ours. They are just heavy enough to make the metal pop up and down. Sounds like thunder.

Thanks everyone. As soon as I saw that picture I had to share. I actually dug out my Canon T4i and 70-200mm L lens to take the picture. My phone just wouldn't do.

I posted that picture last month just because it came out so well. I haven't seen them around a lot but was out back today and I saw mama take off. As soon as she did I could hear little chicks chirping like mad from the little hole.

It was foggy outside but I did capture a couple nice pics.

Mama returning with an evening meal.
