For years I have bought cherry wood chunks from Fruita Wood. I received an email today that the owner was retiring and the business was closing down. Looking for another good source for wood chunks.

I got that same email. Shame to see them go. They are located right here in Colorado, and not many other options in my parts.

Looking for another good source for wood chunks.

Not sure of another good one off hand.
Look for Chigger creek . Comes out of Macon Missouri . Great wood products .
I can't get to the website for some reason . Sold throughout the midwest and surrounding states .
Ace hardware carries them here , plus a lot of stores , but it's local product . Amazon sells them , but not sure of the price comparison from what you were buying .
I like B&B as well , but use chigger creek if I have it .

It appears Chigger Creek doesn't sell online. Or at least I couldn't get their website to open. Looks like Amazon for me. The shipping costs seem to be the deal breaker.

I did look at ACE. We have one close to home and I buy my B&B briquettes and Kosmos rubs there free ship to store. They only carry tiny bags of wood chunks there.

Try that website again in a few days . Maybe they are switching services . Need the store locator so you can see if you can buy local .

I'm amazed he didn't sell the business. Just use of the website and name would have had value to any supplier of chunks. I see you are in Ohio, I have a friend in Gallon OH that sells great wood chunks by the feedsack at very reasonable prices. Usually has many kinds of wood. I've used his chunks in my 270 cabinet for years. It's probably a haul for you but if interested let me know.

Ace & Home Depot are common places to find chunks. Other options here BBQ/Grill supply shop. We have a small local lumber mill that does live edge slabs and a little firewood. They sell cherry, apple, oak chunks in a bag.
