During my search for info on GOSM Big Blocks, I noticed that Bass Pro Shops are not carrying them anymore.

Landmanns online store has jacked up prices compared to what I read that others have paid for them. Does anyone know if another dealer has them at the lower prices?

Next question is, "What is the next best competitor smoker  to it?  I have been looking at the insulated charcoal smokers and may buy one yet. But I am hesitant about paying $3000.00 for the package that would satisfy me, without first studying some of the cheaper options. There seems to be many satisfied owners of the GOSM smokers.

I have built a thick steel, burn slabs and shovel coals type smoker. It works well enough but it is too small and I have to stay with the fire and smoker almost constantly. My first priority is top flavor and tenderness.  I would be very thankful for your thoughts on going either of these directions for my next smoker. If I need to stay with a wood or stick burner to achieve this I will.

Thanks for your time.

Send fishwrestler a pm about them. I know he can guide you in the right direction.
