Just curious, what is the strangest thing that you smoked and did it come out tasting OK or a flop? Myself, I'm too new to have a strange thing smoked because I'm still trying to prove to myself and others that this is a good thing. If pushed I guess a brat or just a steak would be my high point and both came out great.

canned ham and slim jims.

good though.

Would vienna sausage be considered strange? One of the boys asked if I could smoke some.. so I did. Not too bad

I tried to smoke turkey gizzards. They were very tough. I thought low and slow would tenderize them some, but they were like shoe leather!

I can't say I've smooked anything strange, I've been thinking about spam. I think it should be pretty good, but I would like for it to have a little cripsy outside to it.

hmmmm......let's see........canned spam; or little smokies (they are already smoked); some rib-eye steaks; some strip steaks. you choose. i have smoked alot of stuff, can't remember anything being weird- to me anyway.

Butternut squash for soup. really picked up the smoke nicely.

Some number of years ago, I cooked a kid. You know, the goat kind of kid. My neighbor raised Angora goats and had a kid that was born deformed. He fed it for a while to gain some weight and then butchered it. Young goat is quite good.

Weirdest thing thus far for me is some moose leg bones ( for man's best friend ) they took to the smoke very well ,nice color and smell and my dog thought she was in heaven....but then again she's nutz over anything outta the smoker

This is not too weird, but sometimes overlooked as good eats from the smoker:

smoked onions - quartered, then coated in evoo and kosher salt .......... mmmmmmm
smoked garlic - cut the tips off and put a pat 'o butter on top ....... mmmmm

Frog legs and alligator are probably my two most unusual. Frog legs are great.........the alligator, I can pass on, stick with frying that.
