What's a cherry picker for anyways?

Besides picking cherries?

Starting to fix up my ’50 Chebbie truck by installing some rebuilt hinges and more importantly new door weatherstripping. Thus the door needed to come off. While I’m at it, might as well repaint the door jams and inside panels of the door. A whole bunch of "while I'm at it"

A friend told me to weld up a door dolly that attaches to a floor jack but I thought that was way too much work for a once in a lifetime use. Besides having a cherry picker sitting around all lonely lie wasn’t helping the matter.

Nice looking truck those early 50s Chevy and Fords are really cool ! Be sure to let us have some overall shots when you're through. Thanks, Joe

Here's a pic of the driver's door as it looks now which is what the passenger door looked like before I ripped into it. this door is coming off in 10 days (after a couple local car shows) for it's face lift. Sanding the door while eating Salmon Jerky? El Yummo!

Here's the finish product of the renovated passenger door and door jamb. Left plenty of blemishes so when my toe of my shoe scrapes along the surface when getting out, I won't lose sleep. More like why I refuse to paint the outside of the truck. When they get too pretty, they don't get driven. Ask my '68 Mustang. Oh and I bought the truck years ago with speaker holes in the doors. Initially I was already to patch the holes up but it was way too easy to simply install some new speakers and crank up the volume. Oh yeah!
