A moss covered rock in NW Oregon....
I have the opportunity to buy buy a Mak 2 General from a dealer.  It his personal grill in his backyard and has been well used.  He is selling it in order to put the 2012 model in his back yard.

He is advertising it on our local craigslist so I don't expect it to last long http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/for/2964017692.html.  I spoke with him tonight for quite a while and while I didn't feel I was getting the sales pitch, he is obviously a Mak dealer.  He has cleaned the grill up so it looks brand new and is throwing in a cover, the new grease plate, some new meat probes and a bag of pellets.  This grill has a stainless lid, where the 2012 model has a stainless body.

He is asking $1300 for this grill.

My conundrum is the wife, if I am going to buy a high end grill, wants me to buy new.

A new one is $2150

what would you do

If it is in great shape and is what you want, save the $800. I know NEPAS has a MAK and loves it.

That things looks brand new! I agree with solar, if it's what you want go for it. I know I would.
