What to use?

     I have a 50 gallon propane tank I'm making a smoker out of. I would like to do a smoke box on the bottom side but have heard that there's a possibility it will not get hot enough. So my question is should i make a side smoke box or build a box directly underneath the tank. Also which ever one i do some helpful info on the best way to make it. Materials, size, mods, etc. All comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
