It's my turn in the rotation @ our chruch to cook brunch . There will be 4 of us cooking and no one will talk to the others about what they are making . There will be around 135 people at this brunch and I am asking you guys what you think I should cook for them ?

Let er rip ..

Don't know how involved you want to get but.... your 'speciality' what ever it is will be a hit and you can't go wrong with pork and/or beef. Depending on how much your smoker will hold and how much you're willing to spend, I'd suggest pulled pork and brisket for everyone.

Pulled pork or pulled beef is hard to beat add some Dutch's beans to that along with some coleslaw and I think you'd have the makings of a fine brunch

Last time I smoked two briskets and put slices into fresh home made biscuits from scratch I made ( brisket biscuits ). here were none left. The time before that I made chili with three smoked FATTY s in it .. served over bags of Fritos.. without onions to be kid friendly . My smoker will hold around 50lbs of meat according to Brinkman .. ECB with a watt burner ..around 75 to 100 dollars each time I cook for them .

Sounds like a dangerous prospect that you could all end up making the same thing. LOL. Not likely, but it could happen.

I vote for brisket or chuckies along with some smoked mac n cheese or Dutch's beans

No one will bring what I bring . They all talk about smoking but NEVER show the results in public . I am leaning to brisket and I think you hit the spot on the smoked Mac & Cheese . Do we have a recipe here for smoked Mac & Cheese ? Thanks Dude

I too say you should stay away from the norm. I really like the Mac & Cheese thingy and we make a pretty mean ones with some bacon and asaigo and extra sharp white cheddar in them and they too are very easily smoked. I think for the main dish you should make something differant:

FATTIES

Thay can be some breakfast, some pizza, some bake potatoes and the list goes on and on. The one thing about a fattie is there are differant and how many of you church folks do you think have been on the smoking websites to know what one is. There's my pennies.

I'd also opt for the brisket. You can feed a lot of people off one brisket. And they're so good too. Although the pulled pork would also be a good option.

My local " ALBERTSON"S " is donating two prime briskets for my church cooking . Seems the butcher reads here and his parents go to the same church as I do . Thanks ...

he asked me to keep his ID private on this board

NICE the brotherhood and generosity of this forum family never ceases to amaze me
