Nice looking meat, good luck and thanks for keeping us updated.

Chris

I am doing the three butts today and the brisket tomorrow, I don't want to get to much going and get overwhelmed.
Butts are on, @250 to start with using Pecan pellets with some Smoke Daddy charcoal pellets mixed in
, I am watching close I added fire bricks to hopefully help with my temp swings

Has anyone here used the Smoke tube from Smoke Daddy? Curious where the best place in my Treager to place it? With the three butts on I don't have a lot of extra room left. My thoughts are to place it on the far left side so the smoke can circulate the best? I don't want to over smoke either 20180831_095953.jpg

yeah over smoking is bad.. I think you Treager should do a good job.
I agree when my Treager works right I get that perfect camp fire flavor, as far as smoke ring like my Brinkman it can't compare (a lot smaller area)
Just wanted to try something new, I am watching close, too much invested not to watch close

12lb Butts?!?! Got some big pig round your digs! Looks great, funny, I have that same injector, lol.
One was a little over 8lbs, the other two are between 11 to 12.

What area are you?
I hit Cartington Ohio yesterday for my brisket, $3.89 a lb, best price I've ever seen.

Almost 3 hours in, looking great
Smoke is amazing 20180831_125943.jpg

I'm in Connecticut. Usually see butts in the 6.5-8.5lb range. Never seen a 12. I haven't done brisket yet but that seems a pretty decent price. My local market screwed up I think, I bought bone-in beef short ribs for $1.99 a lb yesterday.

Your cook is looking good!

I averaged the big one, 11.76lb, I agree it's still friggin huge. I usually see around 8 to 10 also.
All three are doing great, internal temps 130ish all three

After 3-1/2 hours the pictures cant do this justice, the smell coming from the grill is amazing.
If it seems like I'm over doing my post here I apologize, I've had nothing but issues this season with my grill. Today it is working better then new.
I can't wait to taste what comes off

Damn talk about amazing
I did have to trim a lot of fat, but damn it looks awesome
Seasoned up and going in the fridge for tomorrow 20180831_183959.jpg

Butts pulled, best cook ever, all three done and pulled 11 hours.
Crazy thing is two out of the three pulled perfect, the biggest one was okay, but on the tough side. I pulled all at 195/200, still all taste great.

Hopefully my brisket smoke goes as good as today went.
Ignore that sauce pot,
My secret recipe brewing there. Lol

Oooo, the sauce pot looks good! Nice cook, not surprised the big one didn't pull as easy, probably needed another hour or two vs. the smaller butts.

Temp wise showed it was done? I'm still learning, only been smoking for a little over 6 years
Taste wise everything is amazing, my sauce is even better than amazing. Best batch ever
