what does everyone think of this type with the water reservoir on the outer ring?

Looks like it would work Cliff. The water may evaporate quicker since it's exposed to more surface area, but that's not a real biggie.

Got my first Weber 22"er in 1977. Jumbo Joe, 22", and a 26"er in the arsenal, got rid of my stick burner a year ago. There's nothing that can't be done, and done well on a kettle. RAY

Love my Weber Kettles! Been cooking on kettles for years, and definitely cook on them more than anything else. I currently have a couple of Premium 22s - hard to beat their versatility!
