So I grabbed a small 4.5 LB tri tip and mixed up a some soy sauce, teriyaki, garlic, cumin, white pepper, juice from 2 limes , juice from 1 Meyers lemon, a little red wine vinegar, some honey and some olive oil and marinated the roast overnight.
I made a small snake in the kettle with some Royal Oak lump and 2 plum size chunks of Post Oak. I don't go by temps on most smokes but if I had to guestimit I'd say the smoker temp was in the low 200's . I smoked the T.Tip for close to 2 hours. Pulled it and let it rest.

Sorry I didn't get a shot of the full meal, I grilled some red, green and orange bell peppers and some red onion.

Sliced the T.T. and made fajitas using flour tortillas. They turned out really good .

Beautiful piece of work, a perfectly cooked tri is pretty tough to beat, Like! Only 100º here yesterday, today it's heats up a bit. RAY

Only 100*?:emoji_joy::emoji_joy::emoji_joy:

I couldn't live with the heat you guys get out there Ray, I'd shrivel up and die.
I got heat stroke so many times working construction from the 80's to 2002 so I get heatstroke at the drop of a hat these days. One of my good friends moved out to Tempe in the 1990's, he was a roofer...LOL
He lasted two summer then moved back to the Bay Area because he couldn't handle working in that heat...LOL

Yeah, I spent 34 years in the carpenters union working all over the Bay Area. I'd have never lasted long having to work here, being out in the sun when it gets 110º or more is brutal. Now dipping in the pool, getting under the covered patio with misters and ceiling fans, not so bad. RAY

I'm the same way now, I'm good if I'm in the water or laying on my hammock with a cold beer or some iced sweet tea with the fan blowing the misters on me. I live in the East Bay area our summer temps are high 90's to the low 100's. The low 90's is about all I can handle these days if I'm doing anything besides relaxing, but I like the low 80's much better....lol,

Perfection! that a nice big TT! I have two in the freezer...cant wait to eat them up!

Nice work!

In my neck of the woods it was close to 80 hear yesterday and supposed to be 87 today. Loving having some nice weather. Hopefully can get something cooking after work. That tri tip looks good but sadly haven't seen much around here lately.

That looks great! I wish I could get them here. You're lucky if you can find a meat cutter at a grocery who even knows what they are....
I had to order one at a meat shop and it cost almost $30 :-0

I spent a week and a half in Phoenix a few years ago for a trade show and after one day started wondering why in the world anyone would settle there (of course it was late July). The first evening I walked to the food court which was three blocks from the Hampton and a woman was waiting to cross a street standing so that the 6" shadow was on her. Guess where I stood walking back to the hotel....
My first experience with misters was at the Hooters there and it amazed me how well they work.

Looks nice. I could use a sammich. It was hot yesterday. I was working outside and called it quits at noon.

Believe it or not that was one of the smaller T.T's they had.....some of them were 6lbs+ untrimmed weight.
