watermelon seeds

i bought a package of burpee brand seeds, crimson sweet watermelon. package says they grow an average of 25 lb melons.

I am not able to grow melons in our yard. They start out looking ok, but then they stop getting bigger and the vine seems to start shriveling up. I'm thinking maybe too much water.

Just make sure you pour on the water. If you want to make a couple really huge ones after you have 3 or 4 established, cut off all the blooms and water the heck out of those. It will make those watermelons huge. It also works on pumpkins.

Our season is to short up here. I usually grow those softball sized melons. You eat the rind and all.

Shell do you have alot of those brown armor buggies? I forget what they're called but they kill viney things.

Try hanging your mellons on weed wacker string. I trelis everything I can it helps.
