Vacuum sealer

My food saver sealer took a crap the other day. Today I was at a local store called "Ollie's" they buy up store close-outs, stuff like that. Anyway, they had a new western harvest guard sealer for $49. I did a quick search and seen they're an older model but usually $99.
Does anyone have any insight into how good a unit this is? I use my sealer more than the average person. Thanks for any info

I've got no complaints with my food saver. Wish I could help...never heard of Ollies

I like Ollies for some things, but small appliances are kind of a crap shoot.

If you use it more than average. LEM VacMaster. I have the 250 model but they are a good line and worth the money if you seal a lot.

My FoodSaver lasted more than 20 yrs. I used that thing religiously.

When it died I bought a chamber sealer. If I knew then what I know now.......

Yes, the chamber initial price can be rough. But bag cost, time saved, and performance are all on an entirely different level. Add in the ability to change vac levels to different types of food.

Buy once, cry once. I got a Vevor which is one of the cheaper models.

It was worth it.

I just got a Avid Armor chamber sealer (first one) after my regular sealer gave up the ghost. Got a scratch and dent plus 20% off. Sealed about 6 quarts of HM sauerkraut. Hands down should have bought one years ago.

If you'd asked this a couple of weeks ago Amazon had the Lem sealers at a pretty deep discount. Keep an eye on Amazon.

Western Harvest? Not familiar with that brand. Sounds to be American Harvest clone?
I loved my Ziplock (now defunct) vac unit, but ruined it with a big gulp of clam juice.
Replaced it with a $100 Cabelas unit. Very solid performance.

Ah yes, the Weston website does list it as discontinued, but they still have a similar model.
At $50 why not?
