After using my Cabella's Pro Series vacuum sealer for years, the bag seal heater went out. I don't think replacing the heater bar would be worth it so I am in the market for a new vacuum sealer. Not sure what I should get to replace it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'VE HAD MY CABELAS COMMERCIAL GRADE 12" VAC-SEALER FOR A DECADE OR MORE, NEVER A SINGLE PROBLEM. WHEN IT BREAKS I'LL GET ANOTHER ONE.

I bought a JVR Vac 100 chamber vac in November of 2024. No comparison to the old external bag sealers. Much better vacuum on the product and a nice wide seal area. Plus it can do liquids like soups and stews. I recently vac sealed the remainder of the brisket chili I made. Portioned into individual serving bags so I can just reheat what I need in a pan of boiling water. Yes the bags are boiling water safe for reheating.

Depends on your budget. I upgraded to a Vevor chamber sealer a year ago and will never go back to a traditional vac sealer. Being able to vac seal soups and liquids is a game-changer.

I love mine. You dont really know until you have one how you got by. Total game changer like you said.

Get a chamber sealer and don't look back. We had a Cabela's CG-15 sealer for over 20 years. Great machine, however I bought a Vacmaster 230 chamber sealer. This thing is an animal. We can't feed it enough to slow it down. The CG-15 would over heat if you fed it too fast requiring a cool down rest.
There are chamber machines of all prices and sizes. Most have easy to replace sealing bars and other parts available.

They make a nice all in one electric homebrewing system too... 😉

I’d be in the repair camp. If its been a good outfit for ya, pretty inexpensive fix compared to new.

For chamber - Vevor or Avid Armor
For Standard suction sealer - Avid Armor

I have a Vevor chamber, and an Avid Armor standard Suction sealer. I love them both, if i were to buy another Chamber vacuum sealer, I would stick with the Avid Armor.

Wish I saw this before I bought my Nesco. Their smallest one is on sale.

This looks like the one I am going to get. Looks like great quality on the build. :emoji_sunglasses:

Did a quick test run with some ribs, after only reading the quick-start guide. Hit all the buttons, the progress lights were lighting but nothing was happening, that I could see. Then all of a sudden WOOSH. Sucked the air right out of that bag. I read that you can use this to marinate meat, but it says it doesn't seal the bag in marinate mode. So I guess it just sucks the marinade into the meat and I'd have to put it in another container ?

Which type you get? I guessing chamber. One thing to note on chamber sealers liquid needs to be cold or it will boil. Can be a mess to clean if boils out of bag while in vacuum. Depending on what I doing I may change the vacuum time down. They harder the vacuum the more will boil. It does help the marinade process and it does seal. When sealing liquid I will keep my finger by the cancel button just in case. Just takes a little practice to figure it out.
