I, as well as many, am not rich, lol there for I decided to use my BBQ for smoking, using smoke boxes. Am I headed in the wrong direction? If not, anyone have some suggestions as the best way to go about this. And can I use my rotisserie in conjunction with smoking? Thanks in advance. :)

When I started out I did the samething. I had a garage sale round grill and used  the indirect heat method with a smoke box..I thought it worked great and the meat tasted great...You will want to get you a smoker later because the more you read here you just want be able to stand it...Have fun...

Jscott,

there is nothing wrong with using a small grill with a smoke box. Just keep a CLOSE eye on it as smaller smokers have a tendency to get too hot to fast, and the meat can be too close to the fire (depending on cut)  it is versatile and cost efficient, I can cook better ribs on my small smokers than a self proclaimed pro can on a 500 gallon smoker ( I should know...that was a very sweet $100.00 I won with a blind 5 person non bias tatse test) Keep on smoking bro!
