So I'm in process of selling a smoker, is there a role of thumb for price. I'm not able to find an example of same model being sold used. Want to get a fair price for me and the buyer so just hoping for a ballpark to start. A % of retail possibly as a baseline? Thanks in advance.

I typically go at 50% of what I paid for something that is still in really good condition.
If you are going to put it on Craigs List, you will need to be less that that (in most cases) as you will have a lot of competition.

When I sell anything similar, a smoker, any appliance .......... I start with half the price of what it would cost new.

My reasoning is ......... if you get too close to the price of a new one, the buyer will just get new.

There are exceptions to that, like if the supply of new is limited , etc. I know my Weber 26 Kettle would sell for a premium.

But my Masterbuilt 560 won't even get near half the price of new, just judging from sales I've seen on Facebook Marketplace. And that it seems every fall, Walmart sells the MB GF at deep discounts.

Just my thoughts.
