Morn'n All.....

I just smoked a rack of ribs for my neighbor yesterday. I was doing jerky and had the room so why not?

For a 'thank you" she gave me some turkey jerky that was to die for. I asked for the recipe but she said that she gets it from a friend of hers that sells it and so he won't give up the recipe.

So my question for all you smoken dudes.....does anyone have a recipe for turkey jerky?

Thanks for your help...

Brad

Hey Brad, while I've never made Turkey Jerky, I do make a lot from duck, goose, venison and elk. Personally I like the Hi Country Jerky Seasonings. They have one for Game Bird (Smoky Citrus).

Was it whole muscle meat or ground? Do you have any idea of the flavor profile? That might be a good place to start if you can pinpoint even just a few of the flavors.

Here's a quick search of the forum: http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/search.php?search=turkey+jerky+recipe

Hi SmokinHusker....

It was whole breast meat. It had pepper, salt, and sweet flavors.......maybe brown sugar. Kind of a med smoke taste......fruit wood maybe.

I have tried some Hi Country Seasonings before but not for turkey. I will check that one out.

Thanks...

B~
