Decided to run through a couple of 2+ lb Tri-tips and a batch of NoExcusesBBQ Smoked Beans through my WSM. The Tips were done with a batch of Jeffs Rub and backed by a bowl of home made sauce. As for fuel I used Pecan wood and Kingsford Blue. Cook time was approx 3 hours for the tips and 3 1/2 hours for the beans running right at 225.

In the rub stage.. Great Rub Recipe Jeff! Worth Every Penny

Finishing up on the WSM. Notice the sweet tin of beans catching all that good flavor drips..

The finished product. Decent smoke ring but it was a short two hour cook. Nice bark and a solid medium in the center. Overall a very successful smoke on short notice. This weekend I will be putting a 10 lb butt on for a night cook with a batch of Mustard Sauce courtesy of SoFlaQuer.

I am a no sauce TriTip guy but that looks good.  We need to get together and compare notes

There was no sauce on it. That was just smoke and Jeffs rub with a mustard slather to hold it. I usually grill a ton a of tri tips since it is the predominant meat in Southern California.

I usually do at least 2 every month since they are so inexpensive here. I feel for the guys back East paying $6-8# for them

Looks yummy!  Now I have to try this!  All the ideas here are going to keep me smoking meat more than I smoke my cigars!  Both enjoyable endeavers!!!!!  Steve
