Hi everyone

Well tommorow is the day I take delivery of my first ever smoker, (a pro q frontier) and I can't wait.

Im going to post a q view when I un box it but that won't be till Thursday as my better half is taking me away somewhere tommorow for my birthday.

Anyway the question I have is does anyone have any suggestions on what to smoke first? Im going to buy everything tommorow and get it marinading overnight. :grilling_smilie:

Thanks everyone

Wayne

Season it well before you cook anything in it. :)

As mentioned above do make sure you season it first.

My suggestion for a first smoke would be chicken and\or ribs.  Always tasty but something you don't have to start super early and cooks relatively quickly.  Also you get to eat what you make for your first time sooner, always a bonus!

When you say season it well what do you mean?

I think im going to try making some ribs and chicken wings for my first cook :-). I can't wait plus I've managed to find someone in Holland that will ship me some habanero death dust to the UK for a reasonable price :drool

When you season a grill\smoker you will wipe the interior pieces with vegetable oil etc and get it heated up to a fairly high cooking temp. for a couple of hours.  Make sure you check your instruction manual and it should give you some information.
