Need tips on obtaining thin blue smoke on my char-broil offset pit. I have done the fire box mod and love the way coals burn now, should I leave the smoke stack wide open and just use the fire box vent to do all the work. Got some leg quarters that I was going to smoke Sunday and just wanted to make sure that the some is correct !!!! I have also done the exhaust vent mod and also installed a baffle cover  I am getting my steel plates Monday 1/4" for temp tuning.  Thanks any help is greatly appreciated.

The answer is yes, leave the stack vent open and control the fire with the air intake on the fire box.
