Thanks, and will do, Venture. My wife will be the one using it, primarily in the kitchen. I'll get a chance to experiment with it and will report back my and her experiences. I also have a CDN instant read which I like a lot, as well as a Maverick ET-733. For grilling, I've got the Maverick LT03 Surface Laser themo gun. The last three work really great but I've read Thermoworks is about as good as it gets. I'll be interested to find out.
Post up a review when you have had a chance to work with it?
Good luck and good smoking.
I agree about the meatloaves but all 3 were cooked perfectly. You're right again about the cheeseburgers. 1/4 pounders are too thin to check with a therm probe so I just time 'em knowing that my wife likes no mooing in her beef.
With the meatloaves? Not surprising to get different readings.
Not sure a cheeseburger would be a good test.
Did you do a boiling water test and check them against a therm you trust?
My experience has been that most reputable therms I have tried have been within 1 percent.
Good luck and good smoking.
