Snows here as late as June some years. Gone the next day but I often get snowed on planting fields, or used to, April through June. It’s actually snowed here on the 4th of July on a couple years. If you don’t like the weather in Colorado, wait 15 minutes, it will change in spring and fall mostly.

Sounds a lot like Idaho… was in the lower 70’s later last week and snowing sideways here Thursday night.

Went camping probably 20 years on the western slope with family, to include a cousin and his family from Louisiana, in early to middle June. Elevation about 9400 feet with beautiful weather. I want to bring my cousin up to a beaver pond to catch some brookies. Him and his son, me and my son drove as close as we could followed by a mile hike.

Just about the time we got there, the wind picked up as the clouds were rolling in. A big old aspen fell to the ground about 50 yards from us. My cousin decided it was to leave. I told him all would be fine in a little while. He decided to walk back to the truck with his son.

Shortly after they left, the rain came. Told my son to get up under a big spruce right up to the trunk. Hail then follow and came down hard. My son and I still dry under the tree. Snow then began to fall. My son was getting worried. I told him to wait a bit more. Stopped snowing after about 3-4 inches on the ground. This all happened in about half an hour. Then the sun came out and all was fine.

I asked him if was ready to start fishing and he said he just wanted to go back to camp. We hiked the mile back to the truck where my cousin and his son were inside stripped down to their drawers because the clothes were soaked to the skin, with the heater on full blast. By the time we got back to camp, most of the snow was melted. His wife and daughter looked like they were in shock from what the had just experienced.

To me? Just another day in God's country.
