Well since I sear allot types of meats before smoking, I figured I would fabricate this little rig. I just build it this morning.

Used stricly for meat searing.

Starting with a rack of spares!

I didn't have a brisket, But that's what I built it for mostly.

The beer? That's long gone! but I got more!

I just checked and I'm only 4 hrs and 55 mins.286 miles away.
I go through Tulsa alot on my way to Guthrie,OK.

Nice Job
I always wanted to keep a keg and build somthing out of it. How in the heck do you keep that thing balanced on the edge of that table.............Never mind, I better go out to the pole barn and grab another beer myself.

I used some angle iron (old bed frame) and made a cradle.

No lids tops any of that. Since it's ribs it's lower heat, brisket and chuck roast it'll be hotter.

I still have 2 more empties. One of them is Brad new.

Is that aluminum? Are you worried about burning through the bottom eventually? Looks like it will do a good job searing meats. Do you usually sear your ribs? Sorry bout a;ll the ?'s.

No it's stainless, It Should hold up a long time. Searing ribs is new. I saw a BBQ joint from KC do it on tv. Good results so far.

It's 25$ here plus I buy so many of them some of them slip thorough the cracks.

I call it "rocket hot!" and searing requires flames in this case..and free evap of moisture. Never use a lid, but you can use a spatter screen if ya like.
