I figured with Thanksgiving coming up we would have a few live chat sessions to shoot the breeze and to help anyone in need.

Lets plan for Saturday 11/18/2023 8pm EDT until atleast 10PM and then we will do another one 11/22/2023 at the same times.

This will be the first Thanksgiving in 40 or so years where I will not be doing any of the cooking. I am having shoulder surgery on Wednesday, and will probably be too laid up. So the wife and son will have to take over.
I am very worried.

So easy solution. Cook it Tuesday and have them Sous Vide it Thursday.

I hope the surgery goes well. If your up to hop into Chat Wed night.

Hope the surgery and recovery go well. You probably won't care one little bit about Thanksgiving Dinner this year. Hope the pain isn't too bad

Good luck on surgery.
Pain meds says whoopee, I get soft foods to prevent the stoppage and the rest of the family gets the rookies offerings.

I did give that some thought. The turkey I picked out is 22+lbs., and I could barely manage to lift it into the cart; $.89 lb at the Kroger-owned, QFC store near me. But I have a pre-surgery meeting with doc on Tuesday, and from what he's already told me, it sounds like I'm going to be laid up for a while. Guess I'll just have to hope they can manage turkey dinner themselves.
