Well I just ate lunch there and tried there smoked beef brisket platter. I figured this place is pretty popular and the parking lot is always full at lunch so I can't go wrong.

Boy was I surprised when the server brought me a plate full of shoe leather with a smoke ring on one side. Had decent smoke flavor but OMG was it dry! The very first brisket I ever did was better than this and I owe that to this site and the fine folks that frequent it. I kind of felt a bit snobbish as I was slathering the meat in as much sauce as possible to help keep it from getting stuck on the way to my belly. I was thinking to myself man I can do better than this in my sleep! I don't think I will even bother going back to try the pulled pork. It seeems every Q joint I try is disappointing now. Thank god I'm doing ribs and a tri-tip for the superbowl so I can get my Q fix.

have to tell us the name? I have been to some in sacto that was not bad but it has been years. still eat in town when we go down for dr. appt's. I have moved home to Redding. We have one decent place in town.

There is a bar/resturant on broadway across from the cemetary....427 broadway (looked it up). that does a bbq on friday nite. it is great. they have an all you can eat bbq platter which consists of chicken, ribs, sausage and a great cornbread w/ cheese and chillis. that is all good. let the other people in your party get that so you can taste it but get the smoked prime rib. oh man it is good. it has been 8yrs since i have been there but i still send people there and get great feed back.

oh, i need to lay off the jack. typed all that and forgot to tell you the name. Jamie's bar & grill. get there early cuz you will wait for a table but they have a full bar and good people and they do have a full menu

I had a friend from Texas move out there and start some Texas bar-b-que. His name was Jeremy, but don't remember his last name. Hope it wasn't his place. Couldn't be, he was my mentor pretty much, so if you all run into a Texas bar-b-que place, believe in the cental area and it is own by a Jeremy, stop on in.
