I'm considering purchasing a Texas Barbecues 500 to replace my CharGriller offset smoker.  It's quite expensive and before I leap I was wondering if perhaps there was some experience out there with the unit.

I searched the forums with no luck  I apologize if this is something already covered.

Bill, evening and welcome to the forum...  I just checked them out....  Nice looking units.... seem to be of a good design...  I like the rotisserie option for doing turkeys or roasts... don't know if it would be worth it or not... personal preference I guess...  I also like the smokehouse option on the end... great for hanging sausage and bacon....  A guy could go crazy figuring which one to get....  I'd get the biggest unit with the smokehouse.... and probably throw in the detachable infrared grill to boot, if possible, for steaks....  I'd need a second mortgage for all that. and a divorce atty...    HAHAHA...      Dave
