Our moms, the last two surviving parents are old...83 and 90. mostly ok, as much as you can expect for that age. One stopped driving a couple years ago, I wish the other would follow suit (discussion for another time).

Between Kroger pickup and delivery, Instacart, chewy, amazon etc. we can order food and supplies for our moms who live states away. I shudder to think about how this would have gone down without these options. for them - these are lifelines! so grateful these exist!

Couldn't have said it any better. We have been going to the store for our elderly relatives and neighbors since all of this crap started. My wife's grandparents hadn't left the house in forever. I know they were going stir crazy so I suggested they just go for a short drive last week. We live at the base of the smoky mountains so there is some nice back road driving to be had. Had been so long the battery in their car had died!

My 94 year old mother who lives in assisted living. They put her in her room or apartment and she has not left it for almost 3 months now she's going crazy. No visitors allowed that includes family members. My brother and I order supplies and food for her to be delivered. I am very thankful it is as easy as it is.

I'm really glad you youngsters are taking care of your Elders.
Mrs Bear & I are on the other end, as Bear Jr has been adding our shopping to his & going shopping for us. He did that 3 times, but then Mrs Bear found that we could order from Giant from their site, and they give you a time to get it ready for you. So today, All Bear Jr had to do was pull up to the door. A young Lady brought it out & told him to stay in the car.
She put the bags in the back of his Escalade, and he closed the tailgate. That was it.
Then he takes it all home, separates ours from his, and wipes all the packages with Alcohol wipes he made. Then brings ours up here to us, at the other end of the Driveway.

There was a bunch of items missing, because they were out of them.

yep I make the trip from NY to PA to bring my parents groceries and other necessities (think Gin and Rye old fashion supplies) every 2 weeks. We got real lucky our house was built and completed just before the shut down only 1 mile from them. We do a drive by and leave everything on their door step. I am also lucky I am a member of restaurant depo, was able to score 40lbs of chicken breast, 7 - 2.5lb tri-tips and fillet mignon that I surprised them with for their 61st anniversary last week.

It nice to read all the stories of people helping their families in these strange and difficult times. tech makes it easier, but I think we would all be doing it one way or the other.
