The Woman of My Dreams had never had ABT's. She did give me the hairy eyeball when I told what ABT stands for but I figured she had to try them. However, I was also going to experiment with an idea I've had of putting some pepper jelly in the jalapeno before the cheese mixture.

I picked up four jalapenos. Unfortunately, they were large. I prefer my ABT's on the small side.

I cut them in half and spooned some pepper jelly in each half. I mixed 125 grams (4.5 ounces) of cream cheese, 80 grams (3 ounces) grated cheddar, 50 ml (1/4 cup) chopped green onion, and 7 ml (1 1/2 teaspoon) Worcestershire. I divided this out amongst the pepper halves.

I wrapped them with some of my homemade bacon. They went into my Traeger for 2 1/2 hours at 95 C (230 F).

The finished product.

The Verdict:

These were delicious. The jelly added just a touch of sweet. It will be in future ABT's. However, this is the first time I've used my home made thick cut bacon on ABT's. The bacon tastes better but regular cut would have had a better texture. I will thin cut some bacon for ABT's in my next batch.

Nice.
I take it WoMD approved?

I take a rolling pin to thick cut bacon to slenderize it for wrapping items.
Got that tip from someone on the forum.

Nice!!!! I planted some of those no heat jalapenos a while back and they make good ABT's without the "A" (Just BT's I guess?)... Good for folks who don't like the jalapeno heat (like my wife).

Its been a long time since I smoked anything and much longer since I made ABT's. Might just have to go to the store and get some jalapeno next time I am in town. Store out where I live does not carry them.
Those look great.

Still cannot remember the member that posted the trick of rolling out thick or any bacon to make it wrap ready. It is a game changer

Wish we were closer. I have a lot of green jalapeno in the garden that are not going to turn red this year.
I have so much dehydrated green japs from previous years that I guess will be rotating stock

You have too many Jalapenos? What a terrible problem! They're hard to grow here in the Canadian Rockies.
