Okay, this may seem like a weird question, but I'll ask any way.

Are all sunflower seeds edible? My girlfriend has a couple bird seed feeders in the back yard and quite a few sunflowers are growing from dropped seeds. So I was wondering if all sunflower plants have seeds I can roast and eat.

I BELIEVE there are oil and "eatin'" breeds of the sunflower. Anyone know for sure? I also believe they are both edible. The "eatin'" variety may have a bit better flavor.
