i don't see why not..........the meat probe has a pointed tip, just to make it easier to insert...........the smoker probe will just have to be pushed in harder is all.............if you can use the meat probe as a smoker probe........as i did couple weeks ago........no reason why the smoker probe can't be used as a meat probe...........temp reading is temp reading.......no matter what the environment is.............
It absolutely can. Just be careful about fluids around the point where the wire enters the probe. Stick it in from a top angle to keep fluids from running down the wire (same as you should with the regular meat probe). Fluids can short out the probe.
For the most part a temperature probe is a temperature probe. If it can handle the inside temperature of your smoker then it surely can handle the internal temperature of the meat you are smoking. Both probes are constructed the same except for a little difference in the shape. Inside each probe are two small wires connected to small metal dot that measures the temperature.
