Folks-I'm reposting this from the SMF Article's section so that the word gets out and we as the SMF Family can keep an eye out for this smoker that was stolen out of Las Vegas, Nevada. norbs contact information is listed towards the end of the post.

This is what norbs posted:

Me and my wife came to Las Vegas to have a Fundraiser for my father- in law, He needs a kidney transplant and he is in California, But the second day we were here some one stole the smoker from us at the americas best value inn, on Tropicana and Koval across from the MGM hotel, We have managed to scrape up a 500.00 dollar reward for the return of the smoker, I am not rich but it means alot to me , My Dad made it and passed it to me , it has been is the family for 20 years, He gave it to me because he knows i would never sell it , I myself have been Bar-B-Quing since i was 11 years old, I would hang around the smokers with my Grandpa, He was from Texas also, I am not asking anyone for money, I am asking for help in finding the smoker , It was made out of a 350 gallon propane tank, it has a fire box at the back welded to the propane tank, then in the front it has a 12 inch tube welded to the smoker box where you put your sausages, meat etc, In front of the smoker box there is a wood storage box, then about 2 feet in front of the wood box is the hitch, Fron end to end it is 14ft 3 inches long, and the heighth to the top  of the stack on the smoker box is 7ft 6 inches give or take an inch, The propane tank has 2 handles to open the tank, it has 1 thermostat towards the front of the tank, it also has a stack coming out of the propane tank, the tubes are 6 inches in diameter, if you can help us, please pass this on to as many people as you can, it has been reported to the Las Vegas metropolitan police, Detective Ryan Horn is in charge of the case , in the mean time me and my wife are still here looking for it ourselves, if you need any more information you can reach me at 512-586-9380 or 512-586-9841 or are Room Number is 702-946-9999 ext 3009 that is are room number we dont go back to mthe room until after 6 pm, before it gets dark ,

Yeah, That smoker has alot of history with my Family me and my Dad worked on it right before i left Texas to go have the benefit for my father in law, I have to go back to Texas for a couple of weeks , but i will be back to keep looking for it , i know someone here has it I put up a 500.00 dollar reward but to people here they dont think thats enough, I am going back to do a couple of paint jobs and a fence job, and with that money i earn i will put another 500.00 dollars maybe that will get someones attention, again dave thankyou for the help, Norbs

When was this stolen?  I live right off I-15, which is one of the main interstates running through Vegas.  It's a long outside shot, but I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Also, dumb question, but was the trailer registered?  If so, post state of registry and license plate #.  I doubt a thief would be dumb enough to leave that kind of identifying info on it, but you never know.

Best of luck to you man.  That's really low of someone to do, particularly with the sentimental value of something like that.

Since it's a custom built smoker (and a nice one at that!), I can't see anyone stripping it to re-sell for spare parts, so there's probably a good chance it's still intact somewhere. Sorry there's not much i can do from Detroit, however I think JimF is on the right track using social media. Good luck and I really hope they catch the jerk that did this.

I have been checking the following Craigslist location with no luck but will continue to check:

Las Vegas

Reno

Los Angeles

Wash it good when you get it back... I put a "Curse " on them so everything they do with it gets them in trouble. You know , like everyone that eats thier food gets the Poops , or better yet they contact a member and they call the "Men -in -Blue" on them and they get caught in Arizona and get put in the outdoor Prison they have there... Road gang work and all...

Shame on anyone that would take a Man's Smoker , like kidnapping a man's child.......

I'll be looking here in Ohio...

Dave or Dutch, any way to get this pic on the rolling banner on the home page? Maybe with some wording like "HAVE YOU SEEN ME? - STOLEN". Even if just for a couple weeks. I think it would give this a lot more exposure. More exposure = more eyes looking for it. Just a thought....Steve

Norbs, you might want to put a listing on craigslist in the LV area about it being stolen with a pic.
Here is the pic of the smoker.....

Nice smoker norb.... I can see why they stole it.....

My condolences on your loss. Nothing on Craigslist in Oklahoma or Fayetteville, AR. Hope the bastards burn themselves.

Sorry norbs....nothing more contemptible than a thief! That's a real nice rig too. Sure hope this story has a happy ending, and you get your smoker back. We'll keep our eyes peeled here in OK.
