Great progress. Would recommend a windbreak on top of that grill island. It makes a big difference on my gas grill. Smart move putting the framing on top of composite deck boards. Will make it last a long time. What gage studs you end up using?
I used 20 ga studs, the 25 ga just seemed too thin. I had a heck of a time finding them though.Great progress. Would recommend a windbreak on top of that grill island. Good choice . If you're using cement board , 20 ga. is the min. spec . Can't hardly get 25 ga. to hold the screws for cement board or plywood .I used 20 ga studs, the 25 ga just seemed too thin.
The only place around here that had them was Menards. I didn't mind that though because they're usually cheaper than the other big box stores especially after their rebate.I went to a drywall supply store to get the metal
Studs. Contractor supply sometimes have them but drywall here always have what need and usually cheaper too.
Yes sir!!Got started on the outdoor kitchen this weekend finally. The weather here has been rain every time I’ve had time to work on it. I’m hoping after the concrete is poured I’ll get more opportunity to work on it.
At least it’s started!

I think so. I left a 3/16 gap and I thought about 1/4 but it looked too big. I guess we will see when the next big storm hits.Nice
Did you leave enough gap off the slab for when the gulf hurricanes follow up the Mississippi and turn to the Ohio and drop 6+ inches of rain?
I'm putting a shut off valve inside so I can winterize for the bad month's. I still have to figure out some way to blow air thru to get all of the water out though.
I see what you did there...YOU EVEN MAKE A PROPER SAWHORSE! RAY
