I am a new owner of a Pit Boss and want to do some Disney style Turkey legs. I can't find them anywhere, even on line. Any ideas or is it a seasonal item?

Hi there and welcome!

I get mine seasonally from the grocery store. I wait until they get marked down too cause they dont sell super fast and then i buy em all up half price, brine with cure #1 and smoke to get what u are looking for!! BTW, thighs are waaaaay better than the drums this way. I dont fool with necks cause they are same price and like 1/5th the meat and wings are ok but a lot of skin vs meat. Smoked wings DO make great soup and again are same cost so i skip em.

Jennie-O seems to be the company that will sell them and is what I get in Alberstons/Tom Thumb/Safeway line of stores but other stores may get them as well.

Your other options would be to check a restaurant supply store that is open to the public or a butcher shop though the butcher will special order and it will cost a bit of money.

Finally u can buy whole turkeys when they are like $0.99 or $1.99/lb and remove the thighs and drums and smoke em and do the breast separately . Honestly I would just brine+cure the whole thing and smoke the whole thing and u have all the parts and this may hold you over until u can find invidivudal drums.

I hope this info helps :)

sometimes stores will carry them in there freezer section, worth a look if you haven't tried there yet.

Talk to the butchers at your local grocery store, they can probably order them for you

Your best bet might be to get online and find which supplier gets meat to the high end restaurants in your neck of the woods, see if the have a will call desk where you'll be required to pay in cash most likely. I had a great "in" years ago but that's dried up and I've moved. Good luck! RAY

IMHO the best place to source turkey legs is from a turkey !! hahaa :)
Last time I went on a Turkey drumstick binge I ordered a 30lb clase of frozen legs online at I believe it was called Jason's Meats or something like that. I think I paid around $50-$60 for em. They were nice quality. Had drumsticks coming out of my ears for a few weeks. Definitely quenched the turkey urge for a while lol.
Found the contact on my phone.
