My overwhelming need for African Suya beef took over so I went on an open fire grill quest.
I needed a grill that would get the coals closer to the cook grate and the OKJ Rambler looked to fit the bill.
Brother did it ever.
In order to use jumbo skewers I removed the hinged lid and the adustable fire grate handles, making room for the skewers racks and with firebricks under the charcoal grate to elevate it, but once that was done it was a perfect set up!
First red, yellow and sweet onion pieces combined with serrano and jalapeno slices.
Then the racks and skewered Suya beef made form NY prime NY strip steaks.
Man, was that GOOD! (aside from the mouth burn from the grilled serranos)..
