So I uh...did a thing

Your vette has the best anti-theft device available today on any vehicle!

You did right getting the manual, there is no way I could ever get an auto in a car like that.
Good point, I kind of thought about that as well. Most of the time if Im running into the store quick in Fargo I don't even lock my doors, as long as I don't have anything valuable inside my old personal truck. A. It's not that nice looking anymore so people probably take pitty on me B. It's a manual

That sounds like the perfect time for a mid life crisis and to go get you another fun car.
I did the backdoor in to performance 25 years ago. Purchased a Ram with Cummins. Doubled the HP very easy and cheap. It turned into a head gasket and trany rebuild.
Hauled around the truck camper for many years.
You know the rules
Fast, Reliable, Cheap. Pick 2

You can have a remote valet switch installed that kills the fuel pump or ignition with the press of a remote key fob. Or a hidden manual switch you flip that can disable the car as well.

There's also a battery cutoff/kill switch you can have installed when the car sits for long periods of time in a garage, shed or shop.

But until my knees and hands can't shift anymore, I will ALWAYS drive a manual in my Tacoma and my hot rod.

My daily driver is a pos auto but it's nice to have in the event you break a wrist, arm or leg. You can still drive yourself where you need to go.

A pic of one of my heads in production.

Sweet, I'm a big Corvette fan, that's a great color!

My nextdoor neighbor had a 63 1/2 split window in navy, 72 Stingray in black, 84 in black, 2014 in gray, and a 2020 C8 in Zeus Bronze. 2 deloreans for good measure I guess. His daily driver is a 80 something Buick Roadmaster wood panel station wagon LOL

There's not been much going on with the Z06 but parts have been slowly trickling in. Everything is here except the heads, cam and intake.

The lifters, rockers, head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, timing chain set, and fuel injectors arrived on Tuesday from Mamo Motorsports.

The spark plugs, oil catch can, remote bleeder valve for the clutch, the CAGS shift eliminator, 180° Thermostat, battery kill switch, head studs, flag badges to replace the hood and rear badges have also arrived.

The new steering wheel came today. I am still waiting on heads, cam and intake. They are still a few weeks out.

Less than a month until it goes to the shop!

The car also got her brand sticker and car show license plate.

I was able to get the CAGS Shift Eliminator installed. Took about 20 mins to jack it up, get under there and unhook the harness and plug in the eliminator and dust cap and then lower it.

For some reason, Chevy programmed it to prevent shifting from 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 under 35 mph so it would lock you out and make you go from 1-4. This eliminator puts an end to that.

I am no mechanic like my Papa, but this wasn't very difficult to do at all.

The scary thing is I'm going to have to learn to do my own brakes before long. 😱

Disc breaks are easy, drums takes a little more time and thought.
With all of the power upgrades, I would seriously consider upgrading to oversized Wilwood's rotors and calipers to slow down as quickly as she goes fast.

Not on this car. This has enormous Brembo's on there and they are brand new. The previous owner had them done before he sold it. But I will be upgrading to braided stainless steel lines so my stock rubber lines don't melt.

Ohh those things respond to boost so well. I highly recommend having your ring gaps opened up when they have the heads off. Deep into the 4 digit territory. But then again I have a horse power addiction......

Beautiful machine

Oh the rabbit hole you went down. Been there a number of times myself.
Remember the rules:

That is the part that always perplexes me with upgrades. The rubber lines rarely melt, but they swell and you get spongy brakes.
