Do those of you who have a offset smoker also use it as a bbq grill? If so which side do you put the charcoal in? Fire boss or the smoking side? Just curious.
You can use the Smoke Chamber as a Grill, if it came with or you get some Grates to support the Charcoal.
A word of CAUTION: Line the bottom with multiple layers of Heavy Duty Foil. This reflects the heat back to reduce the risk of your Finish getting destroyed. Clean the Ashes ASAP. If you get some moisture in there, from humidity or rain, the metal will rust quickly...JJ
Depending on exactly what model of offset you're using, you might be able to cook on grates in the firebox and not even involve the cooking chamber.
Or, if you have a charcoal tray in the cooking chamber, you can grill directly. You can also play tricks like making the fire at one end, with the food at the other. That imitates the kind of indirect cooking you can do with a kettle.
