Smoker/grill for apartment

A coworker came in today and told me about Ninjas Woodfire XL grill and smoker.

This looked pretty appealing due to it being electric - my apartment complex explicitly forbids anything that burns charcoal. Says nothing about pellet smokers though!

So after looking at it, I figured I'd ask you folks on suggestions. The Ninja is a great price-point and size. Something I could put on my TV tray table is perfect.

Of course, now I have to ask if there is anything similar from other brands that does it as well or better for a similar price-point? Something that can sear steaks, slow cook butt's and chuck roasts. Something with good temp control so I can essentially set and forget. Apps are also nice to have. Pellet or electrical, no gas or charcoal.

That would probably be the safest in an apartment, some true pellet smokers have had internal fires with overloaded hoppers.

And I'm very much satisfied with it! Just used it yesterday for chicken thighs and beans. I've had around 12 cooks on it. And have no complaints so far!

For just a straight up smoker you may want to look into the Smokin-It Camper.
