I found an interesting way to make pulled pork. I bought an inexpensive bone-in (unsliced) 10# ham. Coated with mustard, used the traditional Jeff's Texas rub and smoked it at 250 degrees until internal was 165. Then dropped it into an aluminum pan with a couple cans of beer and covered it tightly. Put it in the oven (I could have just cranked up the smoker) and cooked at 300 degrees for several more hours until 205 internal. Let it rest unwrapped for 45 minutes and it shreds perfectly. It was awesome.

Sounds awesome!

Welcome to the neighborhood. I'm guessing you bought a 'fresh' ham, as in not cured? Or was it a front leg picnic? I've had both that were pretty tasty, especially with a covered finish since they are a little lower in fat than a shoulder roast.
