Just in case you haven't tried this cleaner for cleaning up your Smoke Daddy.....works absolutely great....almost apply and rinse off......bought this at SAMS CLUB...three pack with sprayer for about 8 bucks....."PRO Force".....

Thanks, I needed an excuse to go to Sams. How often do you clean yours? I usually heat up the pipe and run a paper towel through it before I start using it.

As for the body I got a little lazy with soaking it and cleaned by heating it up and scraping it. had about an 1/8 inch of build up I am going to try to use just big chunks in mine to see if that will cut doen on the ammout of build up. I suspect that the pellets are to blame for moisture/buildup.

Really hope this is not the case, I think I still have about 50lbs from my last trip to cabelas

Usually clean it up after each smoke...I have also been using pellets...they do seem to generate a lot of moisture (creosote)....with a good cleaner it only takes a few minutes to clean....and nice to start out with a clean tube each smoke....

I use large smoke guns all the time in my smokehouse. Replaced the grate screen once already but I have yet to clean mine, other than running a large screwdriver into the horizontal tube because of cresote buildup. I have soaked in water, and thats great for the cresote, but it ain't gonna shine up nice.
But then who cares about looks, it's all about the taste.

Not trying to compete with Q Dawg's suggestion of Proforce, just sharing another alternative.

Greased Lightning is also some good stuff that requires very little effort. I purchased a 55 gallon barrel that held vegetable oil, wiped it out with paper towels, sprayed it down with Greased Lightning and it was nothing but bare metal after I wiped it again with a little added hot water (the stuff really cuts grease). Have also used it for cleaning grills and works great. Just another option.

I have the Big Kahuna Smoke Daddy, but have not tried Greased Lightning on it yet.

I am going to pick up some of that ProForce next trip to SAM's Club, have to try it; Thanks for posting the thread Q Dawg !!!

Never fear nickelmore, I don't use the pellets, and it still builds up a lot of moisture. I don't soak my chips & chunks either.

I use Greased Lightning for cleaning my rangetop and hood. It cuts through grease and oils really well. For things that are coming in contact with food I have used Simply Green. It also cuts through grease but not as well as the GL. It was developed for use in coffee roasters to remove the oils that build up in the roasters.
