several months ago the wife came home with 4 pork butts. i said is it that time again? she said no no just a sale. the wife's american legion axillary have a quarter auction fund raiser and i smoke the butts. lol so thats what the title is about.

they about 3hr in and i have two rigs going. an up rite gas that i turned into a coal burner with a pan and grate in bottom. the other is the old last leg horizontal i use all the time. i cooked up an injection and pushed them yesterday morning. apple wood is giving me the smoke this time. nice n mellow for everyone.

i dont like the vertical one at all. no messin with pan or drips in the horizontal. lower fuel requirements too.

now the work begins. lol should end up with 4.5 gallons to serve up after doing the first one. giving my arms a break.

sliced to shred easier but really wasnt needed. pulled apart great with the claws. super juicy and tender, so mission accomplished. i will tweak the shred with some salt n pepper when it gets warmed back up. like i said i tamed it down for the ladies. hehe

4 butts smoked with apple wood @ 225 - 5 hrs. then dropped in 2 roasters to bring up to temp then shut off.
