OK so I'm a generally organized fella. I like my tools, supplies and everything else to have a place and be in it when not in use.
With my new hobby of learning the smoke cooking arts, I've had to sort of make-do in cold weather by moving some wood into the shop to be cut into strips or chunks on an as-needed basis for my OK Joe Highland offset smoker. I keep my silicone gloves, thermometers, tongs and starter chimney on our shop workbench between smokes. With approaching warm weather I want to come up with a useful way to handily keep supplies close to my smoking area. Splits, chunks, tools and starter stuff could be on our patio in a weather resistant container. Right now on our covered patio, two inexpensive plastic storage tubs house fuel for my wonderful Silverfire Survivor rocket stove, but the bins don't hold up well outside so I won't be repeating that.
Have a special way you keep your stuff in one place?
Don.

Something like this toolbox could help ya out from Harbor Freight

Actually I have that very toolbox. It houses my fasteners, measuring tools and files. At $110 back when I bought it it was a real bargain. I don't think it would hold though all the stash of smoker wood I want to prepare. Do you maybe have a special way you house your wood? If I had a cabinet that would protect the wood and stuff like my smoking tools from rain, I could place it on the patio and have everything right there. Lowes sells some plastic garden tool garages. Maybe something like that... Thanks. Don

You can buy the " trunk " type outdoor storage bins . Weather tight , made to be outside . I have one that is ,,, about 24" x 48" and I guess 24" tall . Been outside 10 years . Has a hinged lid , no leaks .

For a lot of my cooking accessories (extra pots, grill tools, pans, etc) I have an inexpensive 48x24x21 inch plastic storage bin with snap lock handles for the lid. I picked it up at Target or WallyWorld for like $10. It has been through high winds, pounding ran, and tons of what I call Valley Sky Dust (you can grow crops on what accumulates on things around here). It never leaks and keeps everything clean.

For charcoal of all types, plus wood chunks and chips, I use 5 gallon Home Depot buckets/lids. I don't even bother snapping the lid on all the way; I just snap one side. Impervious to high winds, rain, and sky dirt. Charcoal and wood stays dry and the lids won't blow off even when I direct my 120mph leaf blower at them. I use a Magic Marker to write the contents on the lid.

None of what I use is sexy, but dang if it doesn't work.
