Have had our community dock broken into twice in last couple of months. Cleaned it out both times. It is poorly lit at night. Will be adding motion detected flood lights and dusk to dawn led string lights at the end of it. We want to add security cameras too. Looking for recommendations. There is no wifi so will need to store locally on a mini sd card and use a sim (cell phone) card to send notifications and view live video via the app. Sending videos to cloud storage via sim card would be prohibitively expensive. Night vision will also be needed. Last thing is solar powered to avoid major expense of running conduit and power. The dock is 50x100 and would prefer to cover this with two cameras since will likely need a sim for each camera. Suggestions or recommendations appreciated. Thanks.

We use Blink but it uses wifi. Not sure if they have ones you can use. Ours it night vision and motion lights too.

Blink is wifi only. I have arlo on my home which I like but is also wifi only. Fortunately they didnt get much the second go.

Signage is your best friend. Put up very visible signs about video surveillance and will often make the perps think twice.

Look into the game cameras that are instant alert to your phone.
Price has come way down the past couple of years and the monthly service is not very expensive provided you turn them off when members are at the dock. They charge by the photo and no need to capture the friendlies.

We had the same problem here at Lake Norfork in Arkansas. Are you at Lake of the Ozarks? Anyways, this particular boat dock had a game camera placed in a strategic location on the boat dock. Took pictures of various juveniles/ adult……local law enforcement where notified, pictures where sent to local media/internet platforms. Caught the bastards within a week.

We got the Ring cameras on sale a few years back and put up three of them but again not much help in your situation as they require wifi and aren't really all that useful without the annual subscription.

Check out the GardePro X66 cell phone game cameras. Highly rated in all my hunting sites. About $65.00 each. It will send videos and still pictures. Invisible night lighting. You can also watch on demand. I just ordered 2 so I can watch things at camp and home.

Yankee, We are on Table Rock Lake about hour and half from Lake Norfolk. Have some friends that almost moved to mountain home but ended up in harrison instead.

Erroneous post. Sorry. Not enough coffee on board.

Had the install guy out for a quote yesterday and his comments were telling and support some of our concerns - rough DIY job. The current (original install) doesnt look like a certified electrician did the work. I know for sure the gas line plumbing was not done by a plumber as we already had some of that fixed to code. So its gonna hurt on the $$ side for a while, but overall should be much better.

Did you mean to post this in the security camera thread?
Looks like it was meant for the generator thread.

There are also fake security cameras. You can get some signs saying the premises is monitored by 24 hour video surveillance and put up fake cameras. They even have little red blinking lights!

Then a good game camera right at the entrance of the dock in case they dont care.

What are they stealing? I dont live a boat dock life so, I'm just curious.
