Sandwich night

Been awhile . zwiller had been showing me pics of some Killer subs . Then my Son brought home some store garlic bread that cooks in the bag for pasta night . Had the thought that it would be good for a sandwich .
Breads in the bag . Oven is heating up , so prepped some of the toppings .

Cooked the bread as directed . Out of the oven and opened up .
Has garlic butter and seasonings on the top and bottom .
Started of with some salami ,

Got a nice quality ham on sale . Sliced up and added to the
sandwich .

Next is some turkey . Land O frost . Lol .
I like it on a sandwich .

More salami and ham , Swiss and white cheddar on the top half .
Then back in the oven , left opened up .

Meat just warmed through and a slight melt on the cheese .

Add the toppings , red onion .

Sliced tomatoes ,

Pepperoncini ,

and some shredded iceberg ,

Shake on some sweet oil and vinegar ,

Close it up .

Cut into 3 sections ,

This thing is stuffed . I should have weighed it .

I had to rip mine lengthwise . I could only finish half .
Kids ate all of theirs . It was really good , but I just don't eat like I used too .

Great sandwich . have to do this again . Maybe with some smoked sirloin and onions and peppers .

Best served cold in a frosted mug . I do keep a box of quick barley in the pantry for homemade soup though .

For some reason I always think of a sandwich when I see the bread . Finally tried it out .

BTW We were in LI a couple years ago visiting my cousins. The wife and I stopped at a grinder shop and I ordered mine with the works. The counter lady looked at me like I was an alien. She had no clue as to what the works were. I had to explain it to her.

OMG Rich, I would be in a food coma, like you, I can't eat the quantities I used too...but still somehow maintain my shape (round). Never thought about the garlic bread in a bag trick, I bet a good cheese steak with cheese ans cooked peppers and onions would be great.
