last week - March 29th - 30th, we had a call from Wisconsin from my father in law.

he proceeded to tell us that the missus's grandfather was having difficulties and not sure if he was going to make but was having tests done to see what could be done.

April 1st we got a call early am that he had not made it. Gramps had told everybody that he had no fight left in him and that he it was his time. He said his goodbyes and went to sleep. He did not wake up.

There were tears, but mostly tears of happiness. He always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor. If you were feeling sorry for yourself, he said to get over it..lol

The family came from all across the country, we ate , we drank and then we drank somemore. We had a good time. and in his memory we all came to his funeral hungover, just like he would have wanted it.

We will be back home on Monday morning sometime...

Sorry to hear that. Time does not ease the pain, but remembering all the good times helps. Try to pass on things learned from those we have lost to those we still have, in that way, they live forever.

Thoughts from our family to yours.

Grandpas were always special to me. Mine are gone now, but the lessons and knowledge I gained from them lives on. Pay it forward.

Sorry Teacup, and pass along my sympathy to the Missus.

Sorry for you family's loss. It's nice that a funeral can go the way that someone really wants it to go. We'll be here when you get back.

sorry to here-allie and I have thoughts of yours in our hearts.

deepest sympathys to u an yours over loss, it is difficult to deal with a loss of someone so close and loved. good to see your family unite and share in this loss.

i also echo everyone's sympathies mentioned here.........i never got to really know mine............so, with me being a grandpa of 4..........i try to be a grandpa that these sentiments will be remembered of me...........
