Hi, sorry for my english, but i'm using a translator, i hope it is understandable. My project is starting from blank sheet.
I would like to make a reverse flow, using 3mm stainless steel (1/8 I think)
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
These are my numbers help me to understand if they are right thanks!
cc:
100cm (39in) long
48mm ( 19in) diameter

Diameter X Diameter X 0.7854 X Length = Volume in cubic inches
19x19x7854x39 = 11,057
Volume in cubic inches X 0.004 = FB/CC opening in square inches
11057x004= 44 sq in
Volume in cubic inches X 0.004 = Area under the RF plate in square inches
44 sq in
Volume in cubic inches X 0.004 = Area required at the end of the RF plate in square inches
44 sq in
Volume in cubic inches X 0.33 = minimum volume of the Fire Box
11057x0,33 = 3648cu in
fire box size
h15 w15 l20 total 4500cu in

I thought I would do it a little bigger than the calculations to improve the temperature of the fb. I calculate the air intakes based on the size of the fb or the cc?

esv 11057x0,22 =243 cu in
Stack
I'm a bit confused I don't think I fully understand the guide

If you have some time to check my numbers I would be delighted! Thanks again! Beautiful Forum!

Your numbers are fine...
All calculations are based on the size of the CC...

243/.7854*36 = 8.6= 2.9 D stack... Use 4"+/- D stack 35" above the CC..

Chord AB will be the width of the RF plate....

The upper and lower air inlets to the FB control the heat awesome.... The FB should operate close to the temp of the CC.... Maybe 50 deg. warmer...

The guide.... I did take a few liberties... Not real kosher but it gets us to an excellent smoker...
